At UConn Health this class is accountable for conducting religious services and ministering to pastoral needs of the patients, families, staff and the UConn Health community. This position is located in Farmington, CT.

SCHEDULE: This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, primarily 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekends holidays and other shifts may be required to accommodate needs of the community and organization; 30 minute unpaid meal break.
Works under the general supervision of an employee of higher grade.
May provide clinical supervision to other chaplains.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Conducts Chapel or other religious services
Administers rites and sacraments
Trains and coordinates activities of lay eucharistic ministers
Consults with staff to provide effective pastoral care to patients, families and those who serve them
Participates in team meetings
Keeps records and writes reports
May speak to lay and professional groups
Participates in various educational programs
May serve on a variety of committees
Assists in organizing and conducting seminars for community clergy
Performs related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of interfaith spiritual care in the hospital setting
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to perform the requirements of formal religious services
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: General Experience:
A Master of Divinity Degree from an accredited school of theology or its equivalent
Four (4) units of clinical pastoral education in a program accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE)
Ordination or commissioning by incumbent's religious body and endorsement by one's denominational authority
Board certification as a chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) OR eligible and become certified within two (2) years
MINIMUM FULL TIME EQUIVALENT SALARY: $68,120
