Scripps Health Administrative Services supports our five hospitals and 19 outpatient facilities, which treat half a million patients annually through 2,600 affiliated physicians.
This is a casual/per diem, day shift position supporting the Palliative Care Services department at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. The hours for this position will be around 15 hours per week.
Position Areas of Emphasis:
chaplain team member.
Participate in daily palliative care IDT rounds.
Conduct a complete bio-psychospiritual patient/family assessment as part of a family
conference and/or separate patient/family meeting.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
Masters Degree in Theology/behavioral sciences, or M. Div. or equivalency.
Minimum of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or must be an ordained Catholic priest.
Training in psychology, spirituality, and clinical pastoral education.
Professional knowledge of theological and bioethical issues.
One to two years experience in pastoral ministry in a healthcare facility.
Knowledge of Christian and other belief systems.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Training in core patient care responsibilities for patient focused units.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
Palliative Care Services experience.
Completed CSU Palliative Care Education or equivalent.
NACC/APC certification, or ordained Catholic priest.
Endorsement of ecclesiastical authority, faith community or religious community.
