Job Description:

The Role: Chaplain

The Chaplain provides spiritual care to patients, their family members and organizational staff experiencing challenge or crisis.

The Opportunity:

MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking an exceptional Chaplain to join our team. MaineGeneral is a leading health care system that is proud of the culture of excellence, compassion and collaboration that extends to our patients and their families.

The Work:

• Performs spiritual care visits, public worship services and outreach services in assigned areas or to specific faith groups as needed/requested.

• Assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.

• Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care and patient health.

• Participates in an ecumenical and interfaith approach.

• Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.

You Have:

• Ordination and/or endorsement from a recognized religious organization required.

• Valid Driver's License required.

• MDiv/MTS or equivalent preferred.

• Ministerial and/or Chaplaincy experience or equivalent required.

• Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
