Responsibilities

As a CHAPLAIN ASSISTANT, GS-0303-7, applicant for this position will serve as an Assistant to the full-time State Chaplain. The purpose of this position is to assist in crisis intervention, management support, and administrative support to the organization.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.

Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.

Military Grades: E-1 through E-9

Compatible Military Assignments: MOS: 56

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

National Guard Membership is required.

Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0303-07 (D0986000) level, applicant must show to have at least 12 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws.

Experience that provided a working knowledge of administrative functions. Experience demonstrating the ability to advise lower graded employees. Experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control.

VIEW JOBS 12/7/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-07T00:00 Summary of Major Responsibilities The Assistant General Counsel will provide broad legal support for the Company. A principal responsibility will be reviewing and negotiating contracts on behalf of the Company and its affiliates in all areas of the Company's functions, including marketing, sales, manufacturing, and research and development, as well as monitoring performance under current and future contracts. The Assistant General Counsel would be expected to efficiently manage outside counsel that may be used to assist in these efforts. The Assistant General Counsel will also support significant transactions by conducting research, facilitating due diligence, and participating in negotiations appropriate for the selected candidate's experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Negotiating and reviewing contracts in a wide scope of legal and business areas * Collaborating with business areas to manage and monitor contract activity * Conducting legal research as needed * Working with and overseeing outside counsel as needed * Supporting Legal department and providing assistance on special projects as needed, including litigation matters Physical requirements * Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day * Ability to sit for an extended period of time * Ability to travel as needed Qualifications Minimum Qualifications * Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school * 1+ years' experience practicing law in private practice or in-house * Contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiating experience * Must be willing to be aggressive to support the company's goals and needs while also collaborative and a team player * Must be proactive and have the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities * Demonstrated willingness to work hard * Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously within defined timelines and prioritize when necessary * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills * Adaptable, open to change and able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances * Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications * 2+ years' experience practicing law in private practice or in-house * Experience working in cross-functional teams * Healthcare and/or life-sciences background or experience #LI-MF1 We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
