Entity and activity description

Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain zero Personal First Aid/Injuries and help support the safe work practices of other employees and contractors-Participate in all safety programs and comply with all Air Liquide Policies

  • Troubleshoot plant instrument/electrical and control system problems

  • Understand the safe work permit practices and comply with requirements

  • Work closely with other maintenance and operations employees at the site

  • Work closely with contractors and monitor contractor work quality

  • Able to manage I&E contractor's that come on site to drive major turnarounds

  • Participate in the execution and improvement of the facility's preventive maintenance (PM) program

  • Execute work orders, identify corrective maintenance activities and enter work orders

  • Maintain test equipment calibration and associated records

  • Assist Maintenance Coordinator in maintaining equipment manuals

  • Be familiar with Reliability Center and Corporate standards

  • Rack in/out breakers and switchgear

  • Perform analyzer calibration and maintenance

  • Perform routine inspections on equipment as per standards

  • Personal commitment to reliability improvement

  • Assist zone in achieving safety, availability and reliability goals

  • Able to both interpret and draw control and wiring schematics

  • Contribute to team building and sharing of lessons learned

  • Maintain and expect high housekeeping and organizational/documentation standards

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2 year associates degree in a technical field or technical training preferred

  • 4+ years I&E experience

  • Experience with maintenance, repairs, and calibration of analyzers, transmitters, control valves, positioners, switches, etc

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, state/local regulations)

  • Basic understanding of control systems

  • Thorough knowledge of the operation and safety aspects of the MCC/switchgear

  • Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment

  • Qualified in operation of the forklift, manlift and overhead crane is preferred

  • An understanding of the facility processes

  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work

  • Knowledge of the use of a computerized maintenance management system (Maximo)

  • Knowledge of Google Suite Office tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate

  • Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Able to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces

  • Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing and work

  • Potential to participate in turnaround activities at other locations

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and possibly holidays in order to meet on-call requirements
