The Role

The Channel Manager is responsible for the implementation and ongoing development of the company's integrated Channel strategy, relationship management of key Master Agents, ongoing sales engagement, training and lead generation. The Channel Manager will support regionalized sales teams by matching up key sub-agents and sales partners with sales directors within the US and Canada.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ongoing relationship management of key Master Agents for the purpose of growing lead generation and exceeding regional revenue targets

  • Tasked with education, awareness, marketing engagement, campaigns and execution of strategies to drive lead generation through the agent channel

  • Executing activities to ensure Megaport is top of mind with assigned Master Agents and the cloud-centric sub-agents

  • Recruits, manages and grows a base of sub-agents and sales partners

  • Provides the support necessary to grow the channel's business and achieve the projected revenue growth as defined by the company's business plan and strategic goals

  • Collaborates with Master Agents to qualify sub-agents to sell the Megaport services

  • Ensure the sub-agents have the proper tools to be successful. Ensure understanding of Megaport products, services, processes and programs.

  • Work with the sub-agents to ensure they are positioning Megaport products/services appropriately for each specific customer.

What you will be doing

  • Meet with Master Agents on a regular basis to ensure engagement

  • Provide quarterly business reviews

  • Collaborate with members of the sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market campaigns and programs that will be used to target the sub-agents associated with assigned Master Agencies

  • Manage and report pipeline to sales and senior management

  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 40% of the time

What we are looking for

  • Chicago based individual with existing relationships with Master Agencies and their top producing sub agents

  • Successful background in Channel Management

  • Consultative selling skills with an understanding of cloud computing and virtual private networking

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, Oracle, and/or other leading Cloud Service Providers is a plus

  • High energy, strong prospecting, qualifying and closing skills

  • Expert communication, presentation, and time management skills

  • Must track activity and manage opportunity pipeline through Salesforce.com

  • Must work successfully in a remote, globally distributed work environment

  • 3-5 years of highly successful business development and Channel management experience
