The Healthcare Quality Assurance (QA) Risk Assessment Supervisor ensures new business opportunities involving the warehousing and distribution of regulated products (e.g., pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, cosmetics, etc.) are compliant with government healthcare and food regulations and UPS quality management processes. He/She evaluates the risk involved in executing new and/or expansion of existing business opportunities and provides recommendations for to the QA Sr. Management and internal business partners. This position ensures QA and regulatory affairs (RA) concerns are addressed and proper change controls are in place prior to implementation of new clients/processes.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conducts general assessments and client evaluations to determine if the client is an existing, former, or potential UPS customer

  • Performs business risk analyses to determine whether clients have outstanding issues that would increase the risk of doing business

  • Conducts research to obtain data used in business development decisions

  • Performs new product and service risk assessments and evaluation of risk to the overall organization

  • Communicates and reports risk assessment results/findings to QA Sr. Management

  • Consults with SMEs regarding client services UPS should decline due to costs, product, and procedural incapability to gain consensus of assessment results

  • Investigates client products and services to advise UPS personnel of compliance concerns with existing business

  • Manages the central change control program, ensuring results are properly evaluated and trended

  • Manages resources and people processes (e.g., Performance Management, Career Development, Training, Staffing, etc.) to ensure the day to day administration of processes and formal procedures

  • Manages reviews of policies, procedures, regulations, and specific work instructions with internal and external clients to determine specialized requirements and to ensure compliance to the Global Healthcare Compliance Program

  • Detail Orientation: Captures/documents specific and accurate information; learns subjects thoroughly and in detail; completes work with thoroughness; supplies appropriate details when requested; maintains organized files

  • Spreadsheet Knowledge:
    Demonstrates an advance understanding for use of spreadsheets. He/she must demonstrate the ability to build spreadsheet models, dashboards, and/or automated templates

  • Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance

    Knowledge:
    Demonstrates a basic understanding of the functions, regulations, and procedures of compliance agencies or governing bodies; takes a leadership position in programs that reduce risk and enhance safety
  • Technical Writing: Demonstrates a general understanding and use of grammatical rules; expresses ideas clearly and concisely; explains the relationship of effective writing to business objectives

  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Science or related discipline Preferred

VIEW JOBS 12/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-14T00:00 Job Description: Role Summary/Purpose: The Manager, Process Control will be responsible for execution of Production Operational Process Controls for Collections through leadership of a team of non-exempt Process Control Senior Specialists. These process controls will measure collection process execution at internal & external collection sites, utilizing Collection policy and regulatory requirements for guidance. Principally this will involve team member leadership and a main point of contact for operational process control production. Essential Responsibilities: * Manage, coach, and develop Process Control Senior Specialists to improve performance and meet goals * Oversee execution of ongoing process controls ensuring accuracy, timeliness and action orientation * Effectively communicate and maintain solid working relationships with internal and external partners * Provide clarity around collection policy and procedures via engagement with training documentation, collection bulletins, huddle notes and communications * Effectively communicate results and insights to operations management from production process controls owned * Work closely with process control leadership team members to identify simplification and improvement opportunities * Escalate any potential compliance issue/operational risk and work with management on a resolution of the issue/risk * Review and analyze employee production efforts on a regular basis * Effectively manage communications with assigned associates through daily interaction, routine meetings and informal coaching * Identify and execute on process improvement opportunities * Complete and conduct employee evaluations as required * Manage disciplinary process as necessary * Address employee issues in a timely manner, deliver informal coaching sessions promptly, and formal corrective action with specific behavioral recommendations in a reasonable amount of time * Recognize and reward team members on a regular basis, using both formal and informal channels * Work with the reporting team to develop, enhance or create new reports as process control responsibilities are updated * Work closely with process owners to identify control needs and implement new process control builds and testing. * Assist and lead the team through any consultant or audit review request and assist in the resolution of MRAs (Matters Requiring Attention) and other audit findings * Process Control inventory management * Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 years' experience in a financial services operations center or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial services operations center * Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in financial services operations center * Minimum 2 years' experience with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel (pivot tables and formulas), Word and PowerPoint * Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required Desired Characteristics: * Collections/Recovery, Fraud, Operations or Customer Service Experience * Management/supervisory experience to include responsibility for employment decisions * Call Center Experience * Knowledge of applicable Collection laws (FDCPA), regulations and operating instructions * Previous Quality Assurance/Process Control/Audit experience * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Able to communicate at all levels of the organization * Attention to detail and follow up skills * Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills * Self-motivated * Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate a team to achieve results * High enthusiasm and desire to work in fast paced, ever changing environment * Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities with little supervision Eligibility Requirements: * You must be 18 years or older * You must have a high school diploma or equivalent * You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process * You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. * Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.
