The University of Virginia School of Medicine invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology. The Department of Anesthesiology has a long tradition of excellence in research, education, and clinical practice.

The new Chair will provide strong strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the department. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership skills to the position, will have a strong sense for how to manage all three missions, will have the ability to lead through change in a collegial manner, and be able to successfully leverage the many collaborative opportunities that exist at the University. This person will complement the strengths of the department and will have made significant contributions to academic Anesthesiology.

The successful candidate will hold a MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent, be board certified in Anesthesiology, and will have academic credentials appropriate for appointment at the rank of full professor. Demonstrated leadership in academic medicine and health care at the University level is required.

The Charlottesville Department of Utilities - Water/Wastewater Division is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Motor Equipment Operator II who is highly motivated and who strives for success by demonstrating Charlottesville's Core Values of Leadership, Trust, Creativity, Respect, and Excellence. The starting amount will be between $16.51 and $19.81 an hour. Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. The position also provides excellent benefits including 12 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance options with employer contribution, employer-paid life insurance, City's retirement options, and continuing education/training opportunities. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. This position in the Department of Utilities performs responsible semi-skilled work in the regular operation of specialized automotive equipment related to water/wastewater services; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of a Maintenance Crew Supervisor. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: * Operates a front-end loader; * Operates a back-hoe, trencher and related equipment in the maintenance and construction of roads and sewer lines; * Operates a heavy roller; * Operates large tractors with hydraulic arm mowers; * Operates bucket truck, chipper and large mowing equipment in the maintenance of grounds; * Operates televising and sewer cleaning equipment; * Operates multi-purpose equipment in laying storm drains; * Operates heavy sweepers in cleaning roads and streets; * Services and makes minor repairs to equipment; * Operates light to heavy equipment; * Periodically performs semi-skilled manual tasks in connection with the equipment operated; * As a trainee, operates heavy equipment; * Performs snow or debris removal during inclement weather; * Performs related tasks as required. Education, Experience and Skills: Minimum Qualifications: * Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. (If no diploma or GED is obtained, must have a minimum of 2 years of direct work experience in the field.); * Must have experience in the operation of motorized equipment; * This position is subject to emergency call; Must be able to be contacted by phone in case of emergency and reside within 40 minutes response time to the City Yard; * Must have valid VA driver's license by employment start date.
