PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Application Support, performs a variety of duties supporting, enhancing, maintaining and implementing university systems and applications.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides technical support for the operations of all mission critical university systems and applications maintained by Enterprise Application Support, including operating systems, software installations, configuration and upgrades.
Understands the principles of application system development and uses them to analyze, test, implement, maintain and document IT projects.
Able to identify features, advantages and disadvantages of various software applications and assist various groups of technical and non-technical users with creating technical specification and requirements and implementing those applications, in collaboration with others.
Evaluate and test software applications, compile data and produce relevant reports.
Analyze, research and implement solutions in existing software applications as they meet the needs and requirements of users.
Investigate, diagnose and resolve issues in existing software applications as reported through university channels.
Collaborates with vendors for various projects.
Reporting and creating documentation for applications.
Provides backup support for other staff members in the Office of Information Technology.
Maintains knowledge of current trends in IT development, operations and support.
Complete special projects including but not limited to ensuring the university is adequately staffed during or immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field; or at least two years related experience and/or training; Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

HOURS: The regular hours for this position are 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hours and days may vary due to needs of the University or department. This position is onsite.
