CG Model Developer Intern

Summary of the Role:

The CG Model developer Intern creates best-in-class 3D models for use in digital and planetarium products. This person will work with emerging technologies to conceive, design, prototype, and deliver 3D CGI models with a wide range of uses inside Digistar with a focus on science and education content that will be used in Planetarium, virtual reality, augmented reality, mobile and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Design 3D CGI models following detailed model guidelines for use in the world's leading planetarium software (from user research to the final production)

• Contribute to the priority list of new models & features

• Provide continual guidance to the engineering team to ensure features work well in Digistar.

• Collaborate closely with team members in a productive and positive way.

• Present designs, prototypes and concepts to the team.

• Provide full detailed models, textures, roughness maps, normal maps, metal maps and associated files matching or exceeding standards related to Science and Education products.

Qualifications:

• Junior or Senior at the start of the program.

• Proven experience creating 3D graphic models for Realtime use

• Available to work in the Salt Lake City E&S/Cosm Office.

• Available to work 20 hours per week during the defined Intern period.

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of or experience in astronomical modeling, spacecraft modeling, or in other sciences is a plus.

• Interest in immersive technology and content.
