Job Summary: ASC Patient Care Representatives are responsible for maintaining a friendly, warm, and inviting environment at the Front Desk/Patient Check-In area and Patient Check-Out area. It is important that ASC Patient Care Representatives are polite, attentive, and organized. Additionally, they should be able to effectively communicate and assist patients.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Open and close office/lobby as evidenced by opening and closing time of facilities

  • Print daily team/physician schedules as evidenced by the schedule of appointments for that day

  • Greet patients, company representatives, caretakers & transportation providers as evidenced by company standards and policies

  • Check-in patients upon arrival by verifying the information required and having patients complete questionnaires/forms

  • Attend to walk-in patients, scheduling inquiries, prescription/record pick-up, etc.

  • Sort and distribute charts and deliveries

  • Create and repair patient charts

  • Ensure that the lobby and alcove are tidy and orderly throughout the day as evidenced by company standards and policies

  • Complete appointment confirmation calls as evidenced by the appointment schedule

  • Confirm patients' insurance information and co-payment

  • Collect co-payment, any non-covered service fees, and existing account balances

  • Schedule patients for appointments, follow-ups, etc.

  • Fill out essential reports and forms

  • Adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations. Follows the principles of the Compliance Program and the Code of Conduct.

  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of material, methods, instruments, and equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage time accordingly in order to meet deadlines and requirements of the organization.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school graduate or equivalent

  • Knows Microsoft Office Suite

  • Optimal Customer Service skills

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position located in Sarasota, FL.

  • Start times may fluctuate, Days and hours are Monday through Friday 5:30 A.M. on surgery days - 5:00 P.M. with occasional overtime.

Physical Demands:

Demonstrated ability to do excessive walking, standing, bending and stooping. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or control, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, kneel, and crouch.

The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
