Great opportunity for a Global Controller or Head of Finance & Accounting from a large publicly traded company ready to step into a CFO position with a small cap global and publicly traded company in the manufacturing industry OR experienced CFO from small cap 100M-300M global and public manufacturing looking for a strategic leadership opportunity in the Gulf Coast area.

The company is undergoing significant change generated from new products entering the market, expansion into adjacent market segments and recapitalization of its main manufacturing site in North America. The ideal candidate comes from global industrial manufacturing, aviation, automotive, or related industrial manufacturing environments.

Position Summary

The CFO is responsible for the global management, strategy and execution of the organizations financial, treasury and accounting functions for all locations. In addition, the CFO will be a critical part of the senior leadership teams strategy group helping develop, mature and implement strategies to drive growth financially and in market share. Finally, as a division of a public company, the CFO will be responsible for ensuring compliance with reporting, regulatory and audit requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The CFO, as a member of senior staff, is responsible for

  1. a) Directing the fiscal functions of a global manufacturing and vertically integrated engineering company and its multiple locations in accordance with GAAP generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the International Financial Reporting Standards, the Hong Kong Exchange, and other U.S., EU and Chinese regulatory and advisory organizations.
  2. b) Providing input and analysis in partnership with the senior staff on overall business strategy, M&A, operational productivity of all departments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  3. c) Be a partner with the CEO in communicating with the team, the Board of Directors and the Shareholders.
  4. d) Treasury and debt management.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    • Provide timely and accurate Company and Corporate financial reporting.
    • Responsible for operations on three continents Alabama, USA; Germany, EU; and China.
    • Work within the organization to develop and apply effective management control systems and policies.
    • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organizations fiscal function and performance. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies.
    • Appraise the organizations financial position and provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial and operating reports and financial trends. Direct and coordinate the establishment of organization budget programs.
    • Direct, consolidate and analyze all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports, including any desirable analysis of monthly department reports.
    • Support programs for the establishment and maintenance of inventory levels for raw materials, supplies, material-in-process and finished goods.
    • Cooperate with organization officers in coordinating expenditure programs with forecasted cash flow.
    • Compare performance with operating plans and standards. Provide reports, interprets and supports team-based analysis of the results of operations to all levels of management.
    • Forecast short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations, as a basis for maintaining adequate funds.
    • Assure appropriate protections for the assets of the business through regular assessment and use of internal controls, internal auditing and utilization of best practices for operating an ethical and moral business.
    • Monitor credit and collection applications. Approve terms above a pre-determined dollar amount.
    • Assist in establishing and maintaining product pricing policies.
    • Partner with the Senior Management team to track and improve Companys performance in all strategic and financial matters.
    • Assume full responsibility including quarterly signed certifications of all financial reports including proper controls.
    • Partner with Senior Staff and all employees to develop solutions to business challenges.
    • Provide technical, financial advice and strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization.
    • Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter.
    • Evaluation of the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (when available) of individuals.
    • Negotiate, coordinate and lead all matters related to external and/or internal financial audits: tax planning, preparation, and filing; and risk management contracting.
    • Ensure ongoing company liquidity through active management and forecasting of cash positions, building strong relationships with lenders, and negotiating appropriate financing as needed.
    • Actively participate in product liability related case management, company defense, and insurance policy management.

      EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

      A minimum of a Masters degree in business, a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.

      SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • MBA or Masters degree (MA) in a relevant field
    • 15 years of finance experience with at least ten years of experience in a manufacturing or related standard cost environment.
    • Global responsibility preferably in Germany & China.
    • Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese required
    • An experienced leader and financial executive with appropriate manufacturing based business experience.
    • An energetic, forward thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
    • Thorough knowledge of management and leadership principles.
    • Experience in oversight of multiple operation locations.
    • Knowledge of business operations and processes and theories, including lean principles, ERP/MRP management, strategic planning, and related skills.
    • An individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong strategic focus.
    • A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team builder and player.
    • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communications skills.
    • A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor.
    • A decisive individual who possesses a big picture perspective

      LANGUAGE SKILLS

    • Mandarin Chinese or German a plus
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
    • Ability to respond effectively to most sensitive inquires or complaints.
    • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to the Board and outside investors.
    • Ability to make effective presentations to management; local management and peer groups.
