What You'll Contribute The Senior Analyst of Business Optimization Reporting is responsible for developing and delivering essential business operations reports for Sallie Mae Bank. Responsibilities include SQL database maintenance, development and delivery of daily operations reports using commercial reporting software. This position will have responsibility for maintaining data, analyzing data for critical insights, patterns, and trends, as well as communicating analysis and proposing solutions to the organization. Under the direction of the department manager, this position coordinates development sessions to thoroughly understand the reporting requirements and changes needed to support business requirements. This role requires a highly disciplined self-starter with solid collaboration and communication skills who thrives on data, language, and technology. What You'll Do * Reporting * Updates/distributes daily operations report * Develops reporting tools to support business requirements * Creates dashboard reports using commercial reporting software * Communicates/presents data to all levels of management * Automates reports using commercially purchased tools * Data Control * Optimizes queries and processes * Designs and implements database structure changes * Ensures that datasets are appropriate for business needs. * Monitors regularly scheduled jobs to ensure the database is being properly maintained * Validates reports through quality control process * Completes NON-SOX testing * Analysis * Creates metrics to implement and measure process improvements * Evaluates performance against corporate plans * Validates that reports measure desired business metrics * Documentation * Creates and maintains documents for recurring process runs * Creates and maintains report wiki site to document reports and their fields * Technical support * Collaborates and communicates effectively with internal Program Manager, as well as business sponsors, executives, and stakeholders * Ensures communication between IT and Operations The above information is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job; it is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees in this role.
