Provides training and education in the CESI Paramedic program; from lecturing course content, to teaching skills, to overseeing clinical observations and ride time observations.
1.Prepares paramedic instructional areas, i.e., classrooms, task trainers, and other equipment and material required for program.
2.Performs administrative tasks such as maintaining student records and course documentation.
3.Assist faculty to teach Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic curriculum to students. Assists course faculty with set up and cleanup of supplies and equipment.
4.Instruct and evaluate student psychomotor skills in the areas of skill acquisition, reinforcement and mastery in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Advanced Life Support education programs, provide simulation activities, tutoring, and remedial assistance to students, provide feedback to course EMS I regarding skills practice processes and curriculum, attend meetings and required training, participate in ongoing professional development activities, work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse educational environment, utilize high levels of energy, creativity, and motivation to foster learning, demonstrate current knowledge of EMS Basic Life Support education standards, scope of practice and local protocols, adhere to National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
5.Responsible for identifying when supplies for each program need to be ordered.
6.Maintains thorough knowledge of each program and remains current in changes to requirements.
7.Conducts self in a manner that represents HHC's Values at all times.
High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum 3 (5) years experience as EMS Provider and in training healthcare professionals.
CT or National Registry EMT Paramedic Certification
English; Excellent verbal, written and personal communication skills
Organizational skills set
Ability to inspire others
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required
May require evenings and or weekend shifts
