Jacobs is currently seeking Certified Tempest Professional (level 1) for a contingent offer only at our Reston, VA location. Duties will include:
Certified Tempest Professional will conduct tempest testing in a lab
Perform signal analysis utilizing complex test equipment to identify detectable signals
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in technical discussions and meetings
Provide input concerning future requirements (market surveys, formal requirements, etc.)
Support training and/or familiarization of signal capture and identification; develop demonstrations.
Maintain familiarity with current TSCM requirements and how various vendors are meeting them
Must be willing to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and fourteen (14) years of progressive, relevant experience, or an MS degree in a computer or system science discipline and twelve (12) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a computer or system discipline and seven (7) years of progressive experience. Require demonstrated and recognized technical expertise in specialty areas of engineering system design and analysis.
Certified Tempest Professional Level 1
Maintain or attain advanced CTP Certification and job related continuing education
Knowledge of information and communications theory
Understanding of signal propagation and antenna theory
Understanding of electronic circuit design and grounding techniques.
Experience using electronic test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
Adept at utilizing RF and communications test equipment such as Spectrum analyzers, Oscilloscopes, RF and microwave receivers, Video raster devices, Band pass and amplifier devices, and power line analyzers
Experience with audio, video, communications protocols and their signal signatures
Experience with TEMPEST evaluation process, to include exploratory testing of new technologies, identifying undesirable signals and determine mitigation methods
Capable of following established procedures and methods for documenting test results
Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing
Proficiency in the use of MS Office product suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
Experience in scheduling and managing workflow
Willing to collaborate with USG community on procedural techniques and methodology.
Preferred Qualifications include:
Certified Tempest Professional (Level 2); or CTA (higher certification)
CTP-2 capable of writing a TEMPEST TEST PLAN and TEMPEST TEST RESULTS; ability to interpret vendor (TPTR)
Most work will be done at a desk, computer or in Lab.
General Office environment. The work environment is steady-paced but sometimes involves deadline pressure. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, as well as lab equipment to include oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency generators and receivers, and other devices as required.
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. May need to be available to work overtime on an infrequent basis.
Customer and Personal Service:
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Other Essential Functions/Characteristics:
An Information Technology Generalist proficient in many facets of information technology requirements. The candidate should possess general business knowledge and soft-skills allowing them to be adaptable in a wide array of work environments. The candidate should have the willingness to participate in these type of activities when called upon to do so.
