Job Responsibilities

Under supervision of the Superintendent/Designee,

• Differentiates instructions to meet the individual academic needs of inmate students at the secondary level.

• Demonstrates effective classroom management.

• Maintains an effective instructional program.

• Develops an individual education plan based on student's diagnostic profile.

• Develops daily lesson plans.

• Maintains accurate an up to date grade book.

• Accurate documentation of daily student attendance.

• Satisfies all mandatory training (SCDC/PUSD).

• Preforms other duties as assigned.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources)

• A valid South Carolina teaching credential.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in Secondary Math, Science, Social Studies, English/Language arts preferred.
