SALARY COMPENSATION PACKAGE: $60,489.00 - $75,840.00 Annually

WORK PERIOD: 2024-2025 School Year Monday-Friday, 8:20 AM - 4:15 PM (10 mo.)

Job Objective: Performs responsible instructional level duties under limited supervision to teach the classes/labs assigned leading to placement of students on jobs; prepares task analysis; advises students; grades reports, tests, and progress; and advises the supervisor concerning textbooks, special equipment, supplies, or other needs. Attends meetings and participates in overall quality of program and school. An incumbent in this position will utilize discretion, ingenuity, and independent judgment due to the complexity of the job. Establish and maintain a professional relationship with advisory committee members and individuals in diverse clinical settings.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree preferred; high school diploma acceptable with requirement to achieve a Bachelor's degree

Current and competent in the MAERB core curriculum objectives included, as evidenced by education and/or experience and have instruction in educational theory and techniques.

Knowledgeable about the program's evaluation of student learning and performance and effective in ensuring appropriate and sufficient evaluation of student achievement in the practicum experience.

Credentials:

Credentialed in medical assisting by a credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)

Ability to obtain an Oklahoma Teaching Certification in content area to be taught required

Valid Oklahoma Drivers License and acceptable driving record as appropriate

Essential Job Functions/performance Responsibilities:

  • Strengthens relationships by developing students and clients and staff, partnering with businesses and schools and collaborating with community leaders through participating in school or community activities.

  • Focuses on being a leader within the organization through personal accountability, active problem solving and positive forward thinking.

  • Focuses on continual improvement to assure quality products and excellent services to our customers and stakeholders.

  • Instructs classes/labs within area of specialty according to acceptable standards. Studies material and prepares for classes with necessary curriculum.

  • Maintains proper discipline in class and at school sponsored activities to further educational goals. Reports disciplinary infractions to proper sources.

  • Makes regular industry visits to develop network for skill upgrade, advisory committee development and student job placement.

  • Records attendance and advises students of attendance requirements.

  • Upholds the policies and procedures of the Board of Education and supports the organizational management philosophy of Moore Norman Technology Center. Works cooperatively and in harmony with co-workers and other MNTC employees.

  • Administers written and practical (hands on) tests and provides feedback to students relative to grades and other career or academic counseling/advisement.

  • Maintains up-to-date task analysis/syllabus and curriculum for courses to be taught.

  • Makes time available for student counseling and advisement. Maintains knowledge of requirements for graduation and assists students in career planning.

  • Develops and updates curriculum and test materials and instructional plans; makes recommendations concerning textbooks, learning resources and other material; reviews and recommends other supplies and equipment for instructional programs. Maintains proper records and accountability of supplies and equipment entrusted to care.

  • Demonstrates dedication to working with students in an objective and fair manner regardless of handicap, race, gender, national origin, age, or socio-economic background, refraining absolutely and entirely from sexual harassment and exploitation; follows the standards of conduct and performance as adopted by the State Board of Education.

  • Attends faculty meetings; department/in-service meetings; may serve on various committees to provide constructive input to resolve problems. Attends state divisional professional improvement meetings as designated by Oklahoma Department of Career Education.

  • Attends various extracurricular activities within program area, graduation exercise, etc., as required.

  • Maintains expertise/competence in area of specialty by attending conferences/seminars and/or schools as required. Reads and keeps current on the latest technology and requirements in the area of specialty. Contributes to the growth of the profession.

  • Assists with recruiting students; providing items of interest to the Marketing Communications office.

  • Maintains an appropriate advisory committee and develops and maintain professional contacts within the field of specialty leading to the employment of students.

  • Makes on-site industry visits; monitors and/or supervises students on internships, clinicals, and OJT assignments.

  • Acts as sponsor for the program's student organization.

  • Must be able to use word processing and Internet at a basic level of proficiency.

  • Participates in the planning of the annual budget for their department.

  • Develops and delivers lectures over subject matter

  • Demonstrates the proper mechanics of the curriculum for the students to imitate/demonstrate

  • Coordinates and maintains accreditation standards. Ensures compliance with all required documentation, deadlines, etc.

  • Needs to be prepared in Educational Theory and Techniques.

  • Performs other professional duties related to the instructional program.

Experience: Three years occupational experience in skill area to be taught and/or experience in the field of education
