Great opportunity for a Certified Surgical Technician in the coastal area of Maine just north or Portland.
  • Combination of day shifts primarily M-F .
  • Rotation of call schedule.
  • Weekend/Night Call Coverage part of rotation.
Responsibilities of the Certified Surgical Technician:
  • OR Surgical Tech for a busy surgical services practice.
  • General surgery mix (ENT, Ortho, OB/GYN, Digestive Health, etc with no trauma, no cardiac, no nero/spine.
  • Knowledge with Ortho procedures of must
Requirements of the Certified Surgical Technician:
  • Prefer 1-2 years experience but will consider a new graduate willing to commit to length of employment.
  • CST Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • BLS
  • ACLS strong plus

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-06T00:00 Overview The Certified Surgical Technician/LPN Scrub Nurse functions under the supervision of the circulating Registered Nurse in assisting the surgeon in the surgical treatment of patients. He/she is expected to adhere to Operating Room standards and demonstrates knowledge of equipment, instruments, and procedures pertinent to the Operating Room. The Operating Room Technician must have a sense of responsibility and a willingness to meet the required time assignments and work load. Responsibilities * Performs assigned duties in a timely, efficient, and team oriented manner. Prioritizes all tasks and duties to provide efficient work flow, realizing the impact this has on all staff, surgeons and anesthesiologists * Participates in Quality Improvement process as appropriate. Realizes he/she's responsibility to convey concerns regarding patient care issues, including equipment and supplies * Follows standards of universal precautions and aseptic technique. Recognizes breaks in technique and follows through appropriately. - Updates and initials cards for procedures/surgeons. Utilizes appropriate cards for each procedure and has the ability to adapt to unusual procedures. Pulls case carts completely. Works on accuracy of procedure cards continually * Demonstrates proper use and care of specialty equipment and instrumentation * Maintains service by following through with orders, communicating information to peers (new products/back orders) and keeping within established par levels. * Maintains knowledge of techniques and principles of all areas of decontamination, processing and sterilization.
