Our UT Health Tyler hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Tech. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Surgery
What You Will Be Doing:
Assist the RN in identifying needs relative to individual patient assessment and age-specific requirements from infants to geriatrics
Perform a variety of routine/complex procedures with confidence and competence
Utilize equipment, instruments and supplies in accordance with standard operating procedures to facilitate expected outcome for patients
Participate in CQI by collecting and monitoring data for performance improvement to produce quality and excellent patient outcome
Provide good customer service by utilizing good communication skills and technical knowledge to ensure objectives are maintained
Maintain skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to provide expected standards of care
Act as a resource and role model for new staff and students
Adhere to departmental policies and procedures while carrying out duties and responsibilities as identified
So what experience are we looking for in our Certified Surgical Techs?
High School diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Current certification with one of the following: the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing, or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services
Operating Room experience preferred
