Certified Surgical First Assistant

Pay Range: $32 - $42/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Note-Relocation Assistance: $5000 (IF QUALIFIED).

Sign-on Bonus: $20k (for qualifying candidates with at least 1 year of experience - 2 year commitment required.)

Key Responsibilities:

• The certified first assistant is an active member of the healthcare team in the operating room.

• Responsible for assisting the healthcare team in assessing the needs of the patients, infancy through life span, and for organizing and planning care sufficient to meet identified needs during the preoperative and intra-operative phase.

• Pre-operative patient management is, included but not limited to, communicating with other healthcare providers regarding the patients' plan of care.

• Intra-operatively, included but not limited to, using instruments/medical devices, providing exposure, handling and/or cutting tissue, providing hemostasis and suturing.

• The CFA may be asked to precept/mentor others within his/her realm of expertise.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Required Keywords: ("CERTIFIED SURGICAL FIRST ASSISTANT" OR "SURGICAL FIRST ASSISTANT" OR "SURGICAL ASSISTANT" OR "CERTIFIED SURGICAL FIRST ASSIST" OR "CERTIFIED SURGICAL ASSISTANT").

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

• Certification as a First Assistant (NBSTSA; CSFA certification or NSAA; NCCSA certification) We do not accept the ABSA certification.

• High School Diploma/GED.

• 1 year OR CST exp required.
