The Infrastructure Business Line of Arcadis is looking for a dynamic Senior Project Manager to join our team in Austin or Dallas, TX. This position will be responsible for managing and leading the ITS and traffic engineering design and traffic analysis projects for state, county, and municipal clients. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate with the client, sub-consultants, and team members to provide quality work within the client's scope.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the Dallas Traffic & ITS Team

  • Lead proposal development and business development for TxDOT and municipal clients including scope of services, man-hours, estimates, expenses, etc.

  • Meet with clients to establish and maintain positive and effective client relationships.

  • Management of overall project including supervision of internal staff and subconsultants.

  • Organize and direct internal staff and external subconsultants in accordance with project priorities, guidelines, and contractual obligations.

  • Assist with development and monitoring of project budgets and schedules.

  • Coordinate with the project team for invoices and complete project progress reports on regular basis as required by Client/Project.

  • Routinely communicate effectively with client on increasingly complex and technical issues.

  • Technical lead on ITS and traffic engineering projects, with responsibilities including:

  • Traffic simulation model development and evaluations

  • Freeway, highway and intersection capacity analyses and traffic impact studies

  • Major corridor studies, congestion management studies, alternative evaluations, recommendations and reporting

  • Expertise in ITS Design (Freeway and arterials) with varying complexities

Key Requirements

  • Experience managing TxDOT Traffic Engineering / ITS / Transportation Planning projects

  • Proven successful background and relationships working with TxDOT and municipal clients in the Dallas-Fort Worth area

  • Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality technical reports and make presentations to external staff and project stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience

  • Texas PE

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
