Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacists in various pharmaceutical activities to include the preparation and distribution of medications, the maintenance of drug inventory, patient records and financial records.

• Works only under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

• Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification from Texas State Board of Pharmacy

• Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification

• BLS through the American Heart Association

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One (1) year of hospital experience to include experience with automated dispensing machines, IV admixture service (including TPN compounding)
