Job Summary

Assist the pharmacist in daily pharmaceutical care by preparing medications in a complete and timely manner and in accordance with policies and regulations.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

Assists pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications.

Labels and packages medications appropriately. Prepares medications in a timely manner to expedite delivery to the patient.

Operates automated technology (Pyxis, carousel, compounders, etc.) in accordance with the department standards and expectations.

Performs aseptic compounding of parenteral admixtures and other sterile dosage forms with the appropriate aseptic technique.

Completes billing within the appropriate time frame assuring accurate charges with correct date of service.

Participates in the training of new pharmacy employees.

All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies, and Graduate degree in Pharmacy

Certification

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician

  • South Dakota Board of Pharmacy

Preferred:

Experience

  • 1+ years of Healthcare Experience; 1+ years of Pharmaceutical Experience; 1+ years of Retail Experience

Physical Requirements:

Light work

  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
