Certified Peer Specialist - ARMHS
People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a full-time Certified Peer Specialist to join our Integrated ARMHS team. This team provides direct mental health services that are rehabilitative and enables the recipient to develop enhanced psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, community, and independent living skills when these abilities are impaired by symptoms of mental illness. This is executed by exercising a person-centered approach to client support and services.
People Incorporated Integrated ARMHS team provides Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services to individuals receiving services from People Incorporated Outpatient Mental Health Clinics, Targeted Case Management teams, and outreach teams. The Integrated ARMHS team additionally provides Transition to Community Living Services to individuals residing in People Incorporated IRTS programs. The ARMHS team emphasizes integrated care as part of our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) which is designed to ensure access to comprehensive behavioral health care
Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday,Daytime hours, hybrid role with flexible schedule

Hiring Range: $20.00 - $21.37 Hourly depending on qualifications and work experience, plus $1000 hiring bonus

Main Job Duties:
Provide quality program services to the individuals served in a professional manner. Complete required documentation according to program standards and timelines.
Provide peer support to those dealing with substance use and/or mental health symptoms.
Provide guidance, encouragement, education and skill-building around wellness planning, crisis planning, and self-advocacy to support the clients' recovery goals.
Provide services that help clients identify their strengths and to use their strengths to reach their treatment goals and identify and overcome barriers to participate in community resources.
Provide peer support to those experiencing mental health symptoms and/or a history of chemical dependency.
People Incorporated is opposed to violence and offensive behavior in the workplace. Clients participating in our programs, however, may be experiencing anxiety, mental illness, physical illness, frustration and helplessness in their daily lives which occasionally results in inappropriate verbal and physical expressions of anger, threats or violence towards employees, visitors or others. Training is available to staff on physical and psychological crisis intervention and prevention. Employees may be exposed to physical or verbal abuse and are expected to be able to serve angry and disgruntled clients with patience and courtesy.
Requirements
Education and Experience: Certified Peer Specialist I
Be at least 18 years of age
Have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Have a primary diagnosis of mental illness
Is a current or former consumer of mental health services
Demonstrate leadership and advocacy skills, and have a strong dedication to recovery.
Must be free of chemical use problems for at least one year immediately proceeding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact, if applicable.
Required qualifications: Certified Peer Specialist II
OR
Has completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral science or a related field
Has proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related field
Has 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with Mental Illness, DD, ID or TBI
