Job Description
CDM Smith is seeking a Certified Payroll Specialist to join our Corporate Payroll Team. Under limited direction, audits the organization's union and craft payroll accurately and on time and in accordance with union rules, or state and federal government rules and regulations, including in accordance with the Davis Bacon Act.
This role offers Hybrid work options and requires the individual to be in the CDM Smith office 2-3 days a week.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Directly resolve inquiries & service tickets from union and craft employees.
Administer the Points North Certified Payroll system, including uploading hours from Oracle Projects, adding new projects that require certified payroll reporting, and correctly reporting employee craft and union classifications.
Develop and maintain extensive excel spreadsheets to calculate wage rates for prevailing wage projects.
Track Davis Bacon projects and calculate prevailing wage rates and fringe amounts to be paid out to employees. Communicate those amounts to payroll.
Track Union employee hires and updates, classification levels, maintain vacation and dues and report and process of union dues payments in accordance with union deadlines.
Perform other ad hoc analysis and duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree.
4 years of related experience.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Preferred Qualifications
Labor Union, Prevailing Wage experience highly preferred.
Experience in the Construction industry highly preferred.
Experience with Oracle, OTL Timekeeping, Oracle Projects.
Experience with 3rd Party certified payroll software such as Points North.
Knowledge of the Davis Bacon Act.
