As part of our commitment to student success, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team.

Position Overview: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will work collaboratively with our licensed occupational therapist to provide direct therapy services to students with a variety of developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges. The COTA will support the implementation of individualized treatment plans, assist in assessing student progress, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of our licensed occupational therapist.

  • Target individualized goals tailored to the unique needs of each student.

  • Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care skills, and other areas of occupational performance.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other team members to integrate therapy goals into the student's educational program.

  • Monitor and document student progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate regularly with the supervising occupational therapist.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student-centered goals and accommodations.

  • Provide training and support to school staff and parents on strategies for promoting students' independence and success in educational and daily living activities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) issued by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.

  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school or pediatric setting preferred.

  • Strong understanding of child development, sensory processing, and occupational therapy principles and practices.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the needs of diverse students.
