Providence is calling a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to the Providence Transitional Care Center in Anchorage, Alaska. This is full-time day shift.

We are a community of caregivers who are delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Evaluate residents with structured/standardized test per the OTR/L's discretion.

  • Give the Occupational Therapist data for evaluation.

  • Write the treatment plan for resident's therapy per the OTR/L's discretion.

  • Provide occupational therapy to residents. Documents goals and progress for the medical record according to facility guidelines.

  • Teach staff, residents and family member's therapeutic strategies for increasing independence with ADLs.

  • Order inventory and equipment as needed.

  • Evaluate and recommends adaptive equipment for increasing independence with ADLs.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate from an associate degree program in Occupational Therapy Assistant

  • Certified by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc (NBCOT)

  • Licensed in the State of Alaska as a COTA

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of clinical experience with physical disabilities

About the Transitional Care Neighborhood

The Transitional Care Unit has a total of 52 beds with a variety of health rehabilitation issues (ages 20 and up). This is an exciting, busy unit with constant change, many admits, discharges.
