##Administers prescribed occupational therapy programs under the direction and supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to restore function, prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part; help patients reach maximum performance while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities.# Supervises supportive personnel and students in their performance of patient/resident care services and treatments, as requested under supervision#of OTR/L. Education:#In addition to the skills normally obtained through completion of a High School#education, an Associate#s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program is required.
#Current Rhode Island licensure. Experience:#Preferred, but not required. Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements:#Clean, well-lighted, and well-ventilated area.# Exposed daily to disagreeable odors, sights of bodily wastes#and contaminated equipment.# May be exposed to infectious diseases and/or bodily harm from combative patients.# Required to carry, push, pull equipment as well as turn, transfer, and assist patients with ADLs#and/or therapeutic (PROM and AROM) exercise.# Required to use eyes, hands, and fingers with skill in administering therapy evaluations and treatments, and completing progress notes, reports, summaries, and letters.# Follows safety regulations, Infection Control policies, and Universal Precautions.
