Position Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides patient care based upon a total assessment and written evaluation that is appropriate for the patient's needs and medical condition and provides such care in compliance with hospital and physical medicine department policies and procedures. The Certified Therapy Assistant will also assist in the department's performance improvement plan and the hospital's commitment to continuous quality improvement.
The therapist assumes responsibility for maintaining and improving occupational therapy knowledge and skills by conducting staff in-services and attending continuing education courses. Compliance with EEOC regulations, federal, state, and labor laws and regulations is required. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, visitors, physicians, and department/hospital staff members.
Computer skills are essential. Display the ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care. Adherence to the Standards of Practice for Occupational Therapy Assistants and Code of Ethics established by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Position Requirements:
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
1.License- State of Oklahoma
2.Certification - Basic Life Support (CPR) by end of orientation
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant School
Experience:
None required, 6 months or greater preferred
