Purpose of the Position: Under supervision from an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L), the Occupational Therapy Assistant will provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to designated students according to provide quality, discipline-specific treatment for children with emotional disturbance, developmental delays, cognitive delays, intellectual disabilities, other disabilities, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and other health impairments
Job Group Classification: Foundations Educational Solutions
Overtime Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $35-$42 per hour

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain attendance and hourly contact records
Observation, screening, evaluation, and consultation for students who require or may require OT services
Write transdisciplinary goals and objectives
Maintain effective working relationships with other special education personnel as well as regular education personnel and parents
Provide direct services to students
Provide services in collaborative model
Expertise with Augmentative Devices
Objectives or Goals to Measure Performance:
Demonstrates knowledge of state and national standards, district curriculum and instructional materials and assessments.
Demonstrates knowledge of interpreting data and assessments to make instructional decisions.
Supports school and district mission and vision.
Utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates flexibility, dependability, organization, and collaboration.
Establishes rapport with peers and parents.
Seeks opportunities to demonstrate leadership.
Minimum Skills or Qualifications:
Graduate from an Occupational Therapy program
School Experience Preferred
Licensed in the State of Arizona by the Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
Successful experience in K-8 schools
Spanish speaking/bilingual ability preferred
Experience in language development of non-native English speakers
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
The noise intensity level is moderate to high
