Essential Duties
1.Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe and clean environment. 2. Prepares patients for examinations.
Provides routine information related to medical treatments and procedures. 3. Measures and records vital signs. Collects specimens.
Prepares patient rooms. Selects and lays out medical supplies. 4. Maintains medical equipment.
Records and reports patient information. 5. Greets and escorts patients and visitors. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. 6. Answers phones at the front desk. 7.Performs clerical functions related to medical activities.
Required Education and Experience
Two years of related work experience and a high school level education; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Position Focus:
In 1971, Yale University established Yale Health to provide health services to its facility, staff and students through a multidisciplinary health maintenance organization located on campus. Our state-of-the-art facility at 55 Lock Street, is where our members receive most of their care from our 150+ providers. It is a 144,000 square foot medical facility with over 90 exam rooms, an Acute Care Department, a 15-bed inpatient facility with negative pressure rooms, a diagnostic imaging suite including MRI and CT scan, x-ray and ultrasound and a full-service retail pharmacy.
The Certified Nursing Assistant, assists registered professional nurses by performing routine and non-professional tasks in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients at Yale Health. The nurse's aide will carry out only those functions that are assigned to her by the charge nurse. Additional responsibilities include:
Assist patients with tasks associated with hygiene, nutrition and personal care. Maintain a comfortable, orderly, safe and clean environment.
Record and report patient information such as vital signs. Perform Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments tests as assigned. Collect specimens.
Assist visitors and family members. Responsible for the transport of patients to various departments. Assist patients with walking. Perform clerical functions incidental to medical activity.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Demonstrated phlebotomy experience, and proficiency in Epic.
