Duties and responsibilities will be completed while demonstrating behaviors that align with our Community’s Service Excellence philosophy and core values. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are normal for this position.
This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Ensures resident rights, resident safety and resident security is the top priority.
Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents' needs. Assist residents with Bathing, dressing and other ADL’s as needed. Documents care provided in medical record.
Serves and collects food trays and feeds residents requiring help. Transports residents or assists residents to walk. Turns and repositions bedfast residents, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores.
Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone. Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed. Cleans, sterilizes, stores, prepares, and issues dressing packs, treatment trays, and other supplies.
Dusts and cleans residents' rooms. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Nursing Assistant certification is required. Experience in Long Term Care Facility preferred, but not required.
CPR/AED Certification required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Attention to Detail:
Must be able to follow specific rules and schedules, as established by supervisor, based on resident needs. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work in a polite, respectful, caring, calm, and compassionate way.
Strong time management: Must demonstrate ability to organize self to ensure resident schedules are met accurately. Language Ability:
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speak and write in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively with resident family members, management and peers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Cognitive Demands: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
