Description

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.

  • Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, CareTracker, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner, using only abbreviations approved by the facility.

  • Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.

  • Assist residents with ADLs (activities of daily living) such as: dressing/undressing, daily dental and mouth care (i.e., brushing teeth/dentures, oral hygiene, special mouth care, etc.), bath functions (i.e., bedbath, tub or shower bath, etc.), hair care functions (i.e., combing, brushing, shampooing, etc.), nail care (i.e., clipping, trimming, and cleaning the finger/toenails).

  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.

  • Answer resident calls as promptly as feasible.

  • Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.

  • Any other duties as assigned by Nurse Supervisor, Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.

Requirements

  • Must be a certified CNA in the State of Texas

  • Long-Term Care experience preferred

Our Hospice Nursing Aides may assist patients' family members in caring for their terminally ill relatives by instructing them on how to go about performing basic health-care routines. Nursing Aides consult on a regular basis with their supervising registered nurses in terms of keeping hospice team members apprised of our patients' progression and the families' needs. Qualifications Must meet one of the following requirements: * Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility) * Have 1 year of experience within the last 5 years in direct client care in a home health or hospice setting * Have satisfactorily completed a training and competency evaluation program that complies with federal and state regulations * Be registered and listed in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment * For Texas positions only - be a nursing student who has demonstrated competency in providing basic nursing skills with submitted documentation from the director/dean of the school of nursing Must possess a valid state driver's license and autombile insurance and have reliable transportation. Must have the ability to recognize the needs of people, to maintain good relationships with people, and have the capacity to make meaningful observations and communicate them to the supervisor.
