A Certified Nurse's Assistant who is specifically trained and competent to perform assigned functions of personal care to the client in their residence under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Client Service Coordinator.


  • Certification by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a Certified Nursing Assistant, current license and in good standing.

  • Never have been shown by credible evidence to have abused, neglected, sexually assaulted, exploited, or deprived any person or to have subjected any person to serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly negligent misconduct as evidenced by background check completed during screening process.

  • Ability to pass a 5 panel drug screening with negative results, conducted by Concentra.

  • Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.

  • Ability to carry out directions, read and write.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate competency in the provision of care and services safely and effectively.

  • Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect with regard to person and property.

  • Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

  • 18 years of age.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.

  • Current tuberculosis screening at time of hire.


  • Understands and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures.

  • Attends staff meetings and client care conferences as scheduled.

  • Completes assigned trainings and continuing education programs (minimally 12 hours/year), as scheduled by agency.

  • Participates in Quality Management activities as requested.

  • Observes confidentiality and safeguards all client related information within the HIPAA regulations of the agency.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision making.

  • Performs hands-on personal care services as directed in the care plan and tasks within the scope of practice for C.N.A.'s, as allowed by Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Chapter 2 and 26 regulations for home care.

  • Performs household services essential to home care in the home as directed in care plan.

  • Ambulates and exercises the client as directed in care plan.

  • Reports changes in the client's condition and needs to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Assists with medications as directed in care plan.

  • Maintains current CPR certification.

  • Participates in, on-site supervisory visits per Agency policy.
