Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$15.64 - $18.75 / hour
Seeking experienced CNA's for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Gulf Coast Medical Center. The best qualified applicants will possess at least one or more years of current/recent experience in a hospital setting with advanced level skills.
ICUs are the hospital units that provide the most advanced critical care for patients recovering from open heart, lung and vascular surgery, along with cardiac medical problems.
The staff consists of RN's and CNA's who have completed the extensive training and have achieved advanced certifications.
The ICUs are consistently recognized for outstanding patient and physician satisfaction ratings.
Summary
Provides patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health, social needs, comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid and elimination needs. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a State Approved, CNA Education Program required (with at least 120 hours of academic studies and clinical training; 165 hours preferred in Acute Care).
Experience: Previous CNA work experience preferred; or new graduate CNA with clinical training.
Certification: Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.
License: Current Florida CNA Certification; or a CNA certification active in another state which is transferrable to obtain Florida certification under reciprocity.
Other: Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology.
