Under the supervision of an RN or LPN, performs basic patient/resident care activities.
1.Performs basic patient/resident care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN or LPN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, performing basic phlebotomy, and recording intake and output.
2.Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming and eating.
3.Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
4.Assists with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licensure, Certification and Registration: Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
