Liberty of Oklahoma Corporation is now accepting applications for multiple full-time "Habilitation Specialist" positions at the Robert M. Greer Center.

The Robert M. Greer Center is a 52-bed, specialized facility which serves people who have mental illness and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The "Greer Center" operates under the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and is managed by Liberty of Oklahoma Corporation.

The responsibilities of the Habilitation Specialist positions involve providing a wide array of supportive services to Greer Center clients. This includes working directly with clients individually and in groups, providing basic nursing care to clients, assisting clients with their daily living activities and therapeutic programs. Habilitation Specialists are essential members of the Greer Center's interdisciplinary team and are responsible for the following:

  • Assisting clients with their personal hygiene, grooming, dressing and mealtime activities

  • Helping clients understand and demonstrate positive pro-social behaviors

  • Facilitating recreational activities with clients

  • Ensuring a safe and clean environment

  • Following established client medical treatments, monitoring clients and documenting adverse reactions in client's record

  • Providing input in discussions related to adjustments of medical and behavior treatment

  • Assisting with client's vocational services and functioning as a job coach

Positions are available on the following shifts:

  • 6:15 am to 3:00 pm
  • 2:15 pm to 11:00 pm
  • 10:30 pm to 7:00 am

Habilitation Specialists are paid $15.08 per hour (approximately $31,366 annually). A shift differential and additional 37 cents per hour is paid for hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Individuals who have a long-term care certificate are eligible for a $1000 sign-on bonus which will be paid in $250 increments after each quarter worked, during the first year of employment.

All full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. Liberty's employees accrue 240 hours (30 days) of paid time off annually for holidays, vacation, personal and sick leave. Well-qualified candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications:

  • Nurse aide certification

  • Ability to commit to one of the three schedule options noted above

  • Caring and compassionate attitude towards serving people who have disabilities

  • Willingness and ability to commit to work a variable schedule which will include both weekdays as well as Saturdays and Sundays on a rotational basis

  • Willingness to submit to a comprehensive background check process
