SUMMARY OF POSITION

Our Certified Medication Aids (CMA) have the compassion and the heart-felt desire to care for and meet the needs of our residents. Each Medication Aide within our community provides the highest degree of quality resident care in accordance with all laws, regulations, facility policy, and guidelines established by Frontline Management. Medication Aides work under the supervision of the LPN/ and RN.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Accurately measure, record, and report vital signs of resident

  • Observe the resident took the medication and document any reasons for refusal.

  • Follow facility procedure for the order in the resident's chart

  • Participate in the residents comprehensive assessment as necessary

  • Applies health and safety regulations and policies that relate to own position; including exposure to blood or bodily fluids.

  • Maintains/follows knowledge of safety issues.

  • Reports unsafe working situations to appropriate authorities.

  • Report suspected or known incidence of fraud relative to false billings, cost reports, kickbacks, ect.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all residence PHI.

  • Report any complaints made by residents to the Director of Nursing.

  • Knock Before Entering the resident's room

  • Report incidents or suspected incidents of resident abuse to the DON immediately.

  • Honor the resident's refusal of treatment or medication request

  • Report a residence refusal of treatment or medication to eh nurse supervisor/ Charge Nurse

  • Attend Annual in-service training programs such as; OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Safety, Infection Control, ect.

  • Attend and participate in orientation programs as necessary.

  • Participate in an in-service training program prior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood of body fluids.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a high school education or its equivalent

  • Must have, active current Certified Medication Aid (CMA)

  • Must have, One (1) Year experience nurse

  • Prefer, long term care experience

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.

  • Must present a professional manner and be able to deal with situations that may be stressful.

  • Always put the residents' needs first honoring them with dignity and respect and providing excellent care to our empowered elders.

SUMMARY OF POSITION We are looking for a competent CNA to care for our residents in a professional and compassionate manner. Its an often demanding job as you will have to be available for most of the day and week. But, it can also be very satisfying and rewarding, since people who are ill, injured, disabled or elderly are thankful for the high quality care. The ideal candidate will be patient and friendly with excellent communication skills. You should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to help our residents.
