Essential Functions of the Job.

  • Read, write, unqerstand and correctly follow assignments by licensed nursing staff.

  • Hear and see with or without assistive devices.

  • Stand and walk 90% of each tour of duty.

  • Lift full body weight of residents with manual assistance or mechanical devices.

  • Lift up to 50 pounds in weight numerous times per day.

  • Able to bend, stretch at hip and waist and possess upper body strength sufficient to support up to 90 pounds while pivoting laterally at waist 180 degrees.

  • Squat to lift objects in lower spaces and from floors.

  • Possess organizational skills to ensure that all task for the residents are completed promptly and correctly.

  • Safely operate all applicable equipment such as whirlpools, hayer lifts, weight scales, restraint and

ad??ptive devices of various types.

  • Able to tolerate fast pace, time demands, frequent interruptions, and be adaptable to frequent changes.

  • Must become State Registered as a nurse aide within four months of hiring.

  • Grasp and use utensils, tools and implements.

  • Communicate appropriately and effectively with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers.

  • Able to verbalize and respond to verbalizations from residents, co-workers, and supervisors.

VIEW JOBS 11/1/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-30T00:00 PROGRAM: ARS STATUS: F-T & P-T Hourly POSITION: Technician/Therapist Tech II- Certified Medication Tech REPORTS TO: RN Nurse Manager - ARS FUNCTION: The Certified Medication Technician/Therapist Tech II is responsible for monitoring and facilitating the day-to-day operations of the assigned ARS facility, as well as for interacting with the program clients as defined in the Principal Activities section. The CMT will administer medications with safety techniques and sound judgment under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures. Looking for candidates with at least two years of continuous sobriety. KNOW HOW: Position requires an active Certified Medication Technician certification. Two years prior experience in a treatment facility (or other specialized experience or knowledge) required. Current CPR certification. Valid driver's license and good driving record required. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: The Certified Medication Tech (CMT) will administer medications with safety techniques and sound judgment under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. CMTs will monitor the self-administration of medications, observe the clients for adverse medication reactions, monitor for "cheeking" or other abuse of medications. The CMT will obtain vital signs as necessary. The CMT will verify the patient and follow the seven rights of medication administration. 2. The CMT will document what medications were given for the day on the medication administrator record (MAR) chart. 3. Reports to the nurse on duty general and specific information pertaining to the response of the residents to their medications or treatments and any other pertinent or appropriate information. 4. Attends all mandatory meetings and in-services. 5. Participates in a med pass audit at any time. 6. Other duties as assigned by RN Manager or Nurse on duty. 7. Coordinates intakes, orientation, rule-implementation and daily client-care, along with other treatment team. 8. Provides crisis intervention, as needed. 9. Provides client education and peer support, as needed. 10. Informs Nurse Manager and Assistant Director/other appropriate staff of any special treatment needs. 11. Document and keep updated records. 12. Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) duties as assigned by supervision. EFFECTS ON END RESULT: 1.
