POSITION SUMMARY: Provides nursing care to clinic patients, under the supervision of Advanced Practice Provider (APP), or Physician.# Participates in nursing assessments, care planning, patient/family education and other discharge planning and instructions, as delegated and supervised by a RN, LPN, Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician.# Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks; responsible for performing those duties necessary to prepare and update patients# medical records, greeting patients, providing information, communicating, scheduling appointments, assisting with entering charges, posting receipts, and working with other team members; provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.# Performs the registration process for patient visits, to include gathering demographic and third-party payment information, preparing medical charts, recording charges, and scheduling any necessary follow-up appointments.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of Medical Assistant course with current certification that must be maintained throughout employment. Current BLS certification; recertification required every 2 years.
Minimum of one year experience in customer service setting, preferably health care related. ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:# Incumbent must demonstrate the ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively and appropriately to the unique needs of neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Incumbent must demonstrate clinical competence per the job#s Skills Checklist before being allowed to perform independently.
