Responsibilities

Are you a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) looking for a fast-paced and rewarding opportunity in urgent care? Join our dynamic team in Altoona, and play a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to our patients.

• Assist healthcare providers in conducting patient assessments, examinations, and procedures in an urgent care setting.

• Perform vital sign measurements, medication administration, and specimen collection as directed by providers.

• Prepare examination rooms, ensure cleanliness, and stock supplies for efficient patient care delivery.

• Perform CLIA-waived laboratory tests, including rapid strep tests, urinalysis, and glucose monitoring.

• Communicate effectively with patients to obtain medical history, explain treatments, and provide education on follow-up care.

• Maintain accurate and updated electronic health records (EHR) and documentation of patient encounters.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.

• Previous experience in urgent care, emergency department, or a similar fast-paced clinical environment preferred.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment, and basic clinical procedures.

• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
