The Greer Group is recruiting for a Certified Medical Assistant for our client in Fuquay-Varina and Raleigh, NC.
This is a contract position through the end of June 2019.

Job Description:

Assist with patient check-in and phone calls.
Scheduling appointments.
Gather all age appropriate anthropometric measurements - this includes height, weight, vital signs, vision.
Distribute questionnaire or screenings as appropriate for visit.
Interview and take basic history of client, assist with paperwork completion, prepare patient.
Assist with exams, treatments and procedures as directed by supervisor.
Under direction of supervisor - administer age appropriate vaccines. Give VIS prior to administration.
Document in NCIR and EMR.
Under direction, administer mediations via inhalation therapy, injections or oral route.
Document all findings in EMR.
Collect and process specimens such as blood, urine, and cultures.
Follow all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
Maintain high standard of customer service.
Alert LHP immediately if a compromised client is present. Perform CPR as indicated.
Assist with cleaning and packaging instruments, and with running, cleaning, and monitoring autoclave.
May be cross-trained to cover other work areas.
Work in clinic environment with all ages, birth and above.
Bilingual staff member will be trained to perform as an interpreter for Spanish-speaking patients on an as-needed basis.
All other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Job Requirements:
CPR and AED certified.
OSHA and Bloodborn Pathogen training.
Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant, with at least 6 months work experience.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Complete a background check and drug screen.
May be required to travel to Fuquay-Varina clinic and Raleigh clinic.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Good customer service skills. * Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through a high school education and medical assistant programming. * Heavy lifting and the ability to transport stretcher and wheelchair patients may be required. * Must be able to lift, carry and push/pull at least 25 lbs. * Ability to reach for objects by extending arms. * Ability to bend down/squat to reach and retrieve items from floor level. * Ability to move throughout the clinic environment throughout the duration of the shift. * The majority of the 8 hour shift will be spent standing/walking. * Working knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures that are applicable to work performed. * Working knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering routine and special treatments to patients. * Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting. * Working, knowledge of infection control procedures, and safety precautions. * Age specific competencies. * Daily clinic preparation process; order entry. * Able to document and communicate pertinent information * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and clinic staff * Basic computer literacy. * Medical terminology Levels II and III: * Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively * Ability to work with female population of GYN and OB patients. * Ability to work under time pressures in a busy clinic environment. * Ability to handle multiple assignments, conflicting demands or priorities. * Ability to react quickly and immediately respond to emergencies. * Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/ PREFERENCES Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/ PREFERENCES No experience required. LICENSURE/ CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Certification by AAMA or AMT required. BLS required. WORKING CONDITIONS: * Must be able to work under time pressures in a busy clinic/office environment. * Must be present on site for 8 hour shifts during standard business hours. * Must participate in group activities requiring interpersonal skills &cooperation. * Must work as late person when scheduled or according to business needs. * Must be able to react quickly and immediately respond to emergencies. * Must travel between locations on needed basis. * Must be able to handle multiple assignments, conflicting demands &priorities. * Must maintain attention to detail over extended period of time. * Must be continually aware of variations in changing situations. * Must be able to move throughout office environment throughout day. * Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
