Incorporate core organizational values of quality, respect, integrity, partnership and compassion in all activities and decisions.
Comply with organizational policies, procedures, standards of care and related laws and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Ensure the efficient and effective flow of patients during scheduled clinics through joint planning and problem-solving with clinic, office, contract and volunteer staff and other related duties as assigned. Function as part of a team based, patient-centered care clinic serving insured and uninsured children and adults with a special emphasis on care for persons who experience barriers to accessing care due to income, language, cultural and social barriers.
Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers, which includes team members, patients, volunteers, students, visitors, and vendors, by consistently exceeding the customer#s expectations. Protect the dignity, privacy and confidentiality of patients and their families, as well as co-workers and others. This position may be asked to work at other departments as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: # 1.# High school graduate or equivalent preferred. # 2## Certification by AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants.)AMT(American Medical Technologists) or CCBMA (California Certifying Board of Medical Assistants) # 3.# Experience in health care as Medical Assistant preferred. # 4.# Ability to read, understand, write, and communicate effectively in the English language. # 5.# Ability to maintain AccuReg accuracy rate at a minimum of 80% during the probationary period and 90% accuracy after the probationary period. # 6.# Receive insurance co-pay payments and post other monies into the patients# account within the electronic medical record. # 7.# Knowledge of office organization and basic clerical skills required, as well as experience with computer systems, PC windows software and possible TV equipment for telemedicine providers. # 8.# Demonstrated maturity and capability for careful judgment is essential. # 9.# Ability to work under minimum supervision. 10.# Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with patients, families and co-workers.# 11.# BLS certification required and maintained thereafter.
