Baltimore Medical System is looking for a Medical Assistant to work at one of our community health center locations, this is for the Highlandtown location.
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, performing appropriate procedures, and preparing rooms & equipment. The MA is also responsible for maintaining records and interacting in a professional, friendly manner with patients & family members, physicians, staff, and visitors. This position is also responsible for clinical process improvement and acts as a coordinator for lab and referral issues. The MA serves as a lead for process improvement teams. Courtesy, respect, friendliness, and tact are required in dealing with diverse populations.
Hours: M, T, W, F 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Thursdays- 10 am to 7 pm.
Occasional Saturday
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Required:Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience.
Graduate/certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program. A waiver for this requirement may be considered for candidates who have successfully completed a higher level of medical education (e.g., accredited LPN program, however, are NOT licensed.)
Work Experience:
Required: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
Preferred: Five years of medical assistant experience and CMA or RMA certification.
