Lutheran Community Services Northwest is a non-profit organization serving communities across Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. In the Columbia Basin area, our focus is on intensive behavioral health programs for youth under 21. The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct assistance to the Medication Management program which serves all Columbia Basin programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare clients for their visit with the medical provider by taking vital signs, ensuring intake packets and other required paperwork is completed and keeping accurate records.

  • Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations under the direction of the medical providers.

  • Coordinate interpretation services for client appointments when needed.

  • Assist with the screening and scheduling of referrals to medication services and referrals to community providers, when appropriate.

  • Communicate with other medical providers to obtain medical records of current Medication Management clients.

  • Assist with monitoring and managing medical providers schedules.

  • Receive, review, and process requests for the release of Medication Management records.

  • At the request of the medical provider, communicate key client health information to care team members for comprehensive care coordination and treatment planning

REQUIREMENTS:

  • (1) years of related experience; healthcare setting

  • Lived experience that enhances relatability to clients being served

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is required upon start.

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written

  • Basic mastery of business applications and productivity suites

  • Demonstrates resilience, awareness and self-regulation in navigating challenges, conflict and obstacles/barriers.

  • Thrives in a diverse and multicultural environment; works with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance end-user experiences throughout the service lifecycle

  • Demonstrates exceptional commitment to serving and advocating for diverse and marginalized populations

  • Successfully completes tasks in a low noise environment

  • Interacts with others and performs tasks in-person and through the use of technology, with moderate periods of stationary activity and moderate periods of increased physical activity including and not limited to walking, standing, sitting.

  • Moves equipment/materials weighing up to (25) pounds.

  • Travels between worksites occasionally.

  • Works in a variety of settings, including and not limited to LCSNW office locations, partner agency and community-based settings, client home/community settings, outdoor settings in varying weather conditions, and faith-based settings such as churches

  • Meets LCSNW criminal background clearance requirements and other job-relevant clearances as required by the State or program
