Orthopedic Center of Illinois, a private practice surgeon group is seeking motivated and energetic Certified Medical Assistants to join our team. May be required to travel to satellite offices (Decatur, Lincoln, Jacksonville, Litchfield) to support clinics at these locations.
Certified Medical Assistant Responsibilities
Under direction of Physician (Surgeon) and or PA/NP provide care to patients in clinical operation
Provides individualized care in collaboration with patient and his/her family under the direction of physician
Obtain and accurately record patient vitals, history
Complete and document: care provided, patient communication, procedures performed
Supports physician by providing appropriate patient materials, explaining procedures and assisting physician in delivering care to patients
Manage physician/clinic schedule to maximize scheduled appointments
Coordinating surgical procedures with multiple hospitals and surgery centers, scheduling and obtaining pre-operative testing, writing and communicating surgery orders, and collecting necessary surgery documentation
Perform medical reception/clerical duties as needed including answering phones, screening calls, taking messages, working task list, pulling patient information, copying, faxing and filing
Skills/Experience/Certifications
High School diploma or GED and current CMS or RMA certification (AAMA, NCCT or AMT)
Current CPR certification
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to all patients served
Strong customer service and effective communication skills
Patient-first approach to care
Will serve as back-up for other clinical staff as needed
