Certified Medical Assistant, Full Time, Days

Overview

Acts as a collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, and collects specimens.

Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physician, patient and family. Returns patient phone calls.

Must be proficient with use of multiple EMRs and competent to work in multiple physician clinics as needed. Ability to establish a course of action for self and others in order to accomplish a specific goal.

Ability to prioritize goals and reallocate time as needed. Possess ability to communicate clearly. Ability to react calmly and effectively in all situations.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Skilled in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skilled in writing and maintaining records and reports.

Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, employees, and staff. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions in order to maintain a safe working environment. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures. Upholds effective work habits including, but not limited to, regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, efficiency, dependability, and promptness.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience RequiredEducation: High school diploma or GED and CMA certification required.EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant healthcare setting preferred. Additional Skill/Abilities: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
