Austin Gastroenterology is a 40-year-old practice with more than 35 physicians and 30 advanced practice providers located in 17 locations throughout the greater Austin area. We service areas in Austin, Kyle, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Bee Cave, Georgetown, and many more. We are currently looking to add a full-time Medical Assistant to our Anderson location. Travel to sister locations may rarely be required depending on coverage needs.

Main Job Functions
Rooms and triage patients
Prepares physician and mid-level charts prior to patient office visit
Prepares patients for examinations
Measures and records vital signs
Records patient interview and history
Maintain stock of medical supplies in exam rooms
Process prescription refill requests
Demonstrates teamwork in the delivery of patient care

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Experience working in a Gastroenterology practice is preferred.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge of health care field and EMR systems.
Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately.
Skill in written and verbal communications.
Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.
Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care practices and procedures.
