Immediate Vacancy for the 2023-2024 School Year Certified Athletic TrainerLocation: Croton-Harmon Union Free School DistrictSalary Range: $55K-$70KEmployment: 12 MonthsThe Croton-Harmon School District is located in Northern Westchester on the shores of the Hudson River, 40 miles from New York City.

We seek to engage all students and staff in a positive, supportive learning environment where students can own their own learning and continuously grow academically, socially, and emotionally.RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Under the general supervision of the District Physician and the District Athletic Director, the Athletic Trainer is responsible for the care, prevention and treatment of athletic injuries involving student athletes who participate in various school sports programs.

Athletic training includes instructions to coaches, athletes, parents, medical personnel and communities in the area of care and prevention of athletic injuries. Duties include: Provides first aid, CPR, and coordinates emergency transportation, as necessary; Conducts initial evaluation following an injury and makes a decision regarding management of the injury

Establishes and implements a program for the purpose of minimizing injuries which includes condition programs, judicious equipment selection, athletic activity safety checks and determination of physical fitness for participation in intended activities

Provides student athletes, parents, coaches and school staff with information regarding sound health habits and injury care and prevention practices;Maintains an inventory and determines the need for athletic training supplies, equipment and maintenance services;Establishes and maintains detailed records on student athletes including sports physicals,incident report forms and prepares reports, as required;Informs coaches as to whether an injured athlete may resume participation in athletic activities.Assists in the administration, organization, and planning of schedules to provide coverage at athletic events.Follows specific guidelines for the care and prevention of athletic injuries including treatment and rehabilitation.Enforces policies and procedures of the Croton-Harmon School DistrictWorks closely with the Director of Health Services, Athletic Director, and school nursing staff concerning restrictions of injured athletes.Understands and empathize with the needs and concerns of others.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field or athletic training is required.NATA certification is required.Master's Degree in athletic training is preferred.Two years' experience in a school setting is preferred.Current CPR/AED certification.Current ATC license or eligible for license in NY State.
