Position Description

The certificated substitute position is an on-call, as needed position to fill in for certificated employees who are absent for various reasons, such as illness, conference/convention attendance or short-term leaves. Although the Battle Ground Public School District has a fairly steady demand for substitutes, the nature of the work is quite varied. Therefore, certificated substitutes must possess flexibility in being available and a willingness to work in different assignments and school locations.

Once your application is submitted to HR please call and/or email our substitute coordinator at belisle.raedean@battlegroundps.org / (360) 885-5324 to set up an appointment to finalize your application and additional paperwork needed to be placed on the substitute list.

Normal office hours are 7:00 a. m. to 3:30 p. m., Monday through Friday. Please bring your original Social Security card, driver's license (or government issued ID), your original Washington state teaching certificate or permit, a voided check or information for the mandatory direct deposit form and a copy of your immunization records to your scheduled appointment. We are located in building A of the CASEE complex at 11104 NE 149th Street in Brush Prairie.

Effective 01/01/2023 - Certificated substitute pay is $175.00 for full days (7.5 hrs), $109.38 for 1/2 days (3.75 hrs), and $117.25 for early release days (4 hrs). Amboy/Yacolt location assignments pay is $185.00 for full days (7.5 hrs), $115.63 for 1/2 days (3.75 hrs), and $123.95 for early release days (4 hrs)

  • Are you eligible for lawful employment in the United States? Proof of identity and citizenship or legal right to work will be required upon hire.

  • I authorize Battle Ground Public Schools, henceforth known as the District, to make any investigation of any personal, educational, vocational, or employment history. I further authorize any former employer, person, firm, corporation, educational, or vocational institution or government agency to provide the District with information they have regarding me. I hereby release and discharge the District and those who provide information from any and all liability as a result of furnishing and receiving this information.

  • I certify that answers given herein are true and complete to the best of my knowledge. In the event of employment, I understand that false or misleading information, including omissions, in my application or interview(s) may result in dismissal at any time during my period of employment with the District.

    I also understand that any offer of employment that may be made to me is conditional and subject to the acceptable outcome of a criminal history background information check and approval of the Battle Ground Public Schools Board of Directors. I also agree to abide by all rules and regulations of the District.

  • Are you willing to be fingerprinted at ESD 112 upon offer of employment, if you do not have current fingerprint records on file? The cost, currently $85.00, to be borne by the applicant.

  • Do you confirm that you DO NOT have a serious behavioral problem which endangers the educational welfare or personal safety of students, teachers, or other colleagues? A serious behavior problem includes, but is not limited to: dishonesty; immorality; misuse of alcohol, a controlled substance, or a prescription drug; or furnishing alcohol or controlled substances to a minor or student.

  • I have never been convicted/and or pleaded guilty of a crime against children. (If this is true, answer yes. If this is false, answer no.
